Reservation page

The article explains how to configure and customize the OctoTable booking page. It describes the process of selecting services, managing special requests, and enabling dark or light display mode, with the option to upload custom images. Additionally, the article provides guidance on how to add a logo, customize the newsletter text, and manage privacy and contact settings.

Throughout the entire process, previews will help you visualize what you are modifying. By clicking on a specific section of the preview, you will be taken directly to the exact configuration point for that element.

Access the booking page from Configuration > Reservation Page

🔹 "Theme" Section

Most modern devices allow users to choose between Dark mode and Light mode:

  • Light mode features dark text on light backgrounds, offering positive contrast ideal for well-lit environments.

  • Dark mode features light text on dark backgrounds, reducing eye strain in low-light or nighttime conditions.

In the Theme section, upload an image for Light mode and/or an image for Dark mode.

📌 Please note
If no custom image is uploaded, the default image will be displayed.

Then select the default theme that customers will see:

  • Default: Customers will see the booking page according to their smartphone interface settings. If their device is set to Dark mode, they will see the booking page in Dark mode with the image you uploaded for the Dark theme.

  • Light: The booking page will always appear in Light mode.

  • Dark: The booking page will always appear in Dark mode.

Under Image Display, choose how the uploaded image will appear on the booking page:

  • Repeat: The image will fill the screen by repeating multiple times.

  • Image Format: The image remains in its original uploaded format.

  • Fill and Adapt: The image resizes to fit the device screen where it is displayed.

Finally, by modifying the Color, you can change the color of the elements on the booking page. Choose a color that reflects your brand or restaurant identity.

🔹 "Welcome Page" Section

Here you can upload your restaurant logo and choose its size. If no logo is uploaded, the OctoTable logo will appear on your welcome page.

📌 Please note
The logo uploaded in this section will also appear in automatic emails sent to customers (booking status updates, reminders, review requests). Otherwise, the default OctoTable logo will be displayed.

You can use the Welcome Message to communicate with customers or briefly introduce your restaurant.

🔹 "Services Page" Section

From this page, you can decide which services are available for booking through your booking engine.

For example, if you offer breakfast but do not want customers to book it online, you can hide it using the filter. The service will not be visible to customers, but you can still manage it internally for walk-in bookings through OctoTable.

Address, opening hours, and contacts are optional elements that you can choose whether to display.

🔹 "Booking Page" Section

Here, in addition to choosing which services to display, you can set the minimum and maximum number of people per reservation.

🔹 "Confirmation Page" Section

In this section, you decide what customers will see in the final booking form.

From here you can:

  1. Choose whether to show the “Special Requests” section in the booking form.

  2. Enable the Newsletter Consent option to request guest consent to receive newsletters during booking. The guest’s choice will be recorded in the Customer Database under each customer’s profile. You can edit the newsletter consent text displayed on the booking page. Click Automatically translate missing languages with Google Translate to display the text in other booking page languages.

  3. Edit the text regarding personal data and privacy management. By default, the European regulation text is included, but it can be customized.

Clicking Automatically translate missing languages with Google Translate will translate the text automatically.
