Reservation page

The article explains how to configure and customize the OctoTable Reservation page. It describes the process of selecting services, managing special requests, and enabling dark or light mode display, with the option to upload custom images. In addition, the article guides you on how to add the logo, customize the text for the newsletter, and manage privacy and contact settings.

Access the booking page from Configuration > Reservation page

🔹 "Reservation Page" Section

Set the minimum and maximum number of people that can be selected when making a reservation.

🔹 "Services Available for Online Booking" Section

Next, decide which services to associate with the reservation page. By default, the system will associate all services with the reservation page.
To select only specific services to associate with the reservation page, click the downward arrow.

A dropdown menu will open where you can select specific services to associate with the reservation page.

For example, if you offer a breakfast service but don’t want customers to be able to book it online, you can hide it from the reservation page using the filter. This way, the service won’t be visible to customers, but you can still manage it internally for walk-in bookings via OctoTable.

🔹 "What do you want to show on the booking page" Section

In this section, choose:

  • whether to show your business address or not

  • whether to show the phone number

  • whether to allow the final customers' special requests

  • whether to display your restaurant’s opening hours on the reservation page
Click here to know how to configure services and opening hours

  • Choose whether or not to show the personal data protection policy

🔹 "Texts" and "Welcome Message" Sections

In the Texts section, inside the "Special Requests" box, you can enter custom text to replace the default “Special requests and allergies” message on the booking page.

In the Welcome Message section, you can write anything the customer absolutely needs to know about your restaurant.

The welcome message is the first thing the customer will see when they access the booking page.

🔹 "Theme" Section

Most modern devices allow you to choose whether you prefer a Dark-mode or Light-mode interface:

  • Light-mode, or light theme, shows dark text on light backgrounds, offering a positive contrast ideal for well-lit environments

  • Dark-mode, or dark theme, shows light text on dark backgrounds, reducing eye strain in low-light conditions or at night

In the Theme section, upload an image for the light theme (Light-mode) and/or an image for the dark theme (Dark-mode).

📌 Note well
If no customized image is uploaded for the theme, the default image will be displayed.

Then select the Initial theme with which the booking page will be displayed to the final customer:

  • Default: your customer views the booking page depending on how their smartphone interface is set. This means that if you select Default and your customer’s smartphone interface is set to dark theme (Dark-mode), they will see the booking page in Dark mode with the photo you uploaded in the Dark Theme section

  • Light: the customer views the booking page in Light Theme, therefore they will see the image you uploaded for the Light Theme.

  • Dark: the customer views the booking page in Dark Theme, therefore they will see the background image selected for Dark Theme

In Image display, decide how the uploaded photo will appear within the booking page, select the mode you find best depending on different devices:

  • Repeat: the photo will fill the screen and to do so it will repeat itself several times

  • Image format: the image remains in the format in which it was uploaded

  • Fill and adapt: the image adapts to the device screen where it is displayed and is resized accordingly

Finally, by modifying the Color, you will change the color of the elements displayed on the booking page. Choose a color that reflects your brand or the identity of your restaurant.

🔹 "Logo" Section

Add the logo of your restaurant so that it is displayed in the first section of the booking page.

📌 Note: In the automatic emails sent to your customers — including booking status updates, reminders, and review requests — the logo you upload in this section will be displayed. If no logo is uploaded, the default OctoTable logo will be shown to the customer.
