Reservation page

OctoTable has just had a facelift with its new reservation page.  Read this article to find out.

The first thing to say about OctoTable's new booking engine, is that there will no longer be multiple booking pages: the booking page will be unique and will let you manage the services offered in your establishment.

  • Give the page a name

  • Select the minimum and maximum amount of people who can book

By default, all your existing services will be automatically associated with the booking page. If you wish to associate only certain services to it, click on the down arrow from the drop down menu, and select the services you want your customers to see on the reservation page.

  • Display your address and the map

  • Choose whether or not to display the contact details

  • Allow special requests: by clicking yes, the customer on the reservation page will find the Special Requests section.

  • Opening hours: these are the service hours set in Configuration > Services/Opening hours, decide whether to show them or not

In the space located right below Special Requests, you can type whatever you'd like your customers to see on the reservation page.

In the 'Welcome Message' section, you can write what the customer needs to know about your venue; the welcome message will be the first visible item to your customers upon visiting your reservation page.

Most modern devices allow you to choose whether you prefer a dark or light mode user interface.

  • Light mode or light theme, appears as a dark text on a light background, providing an ideal contrast to well-lit environments.

  • Dark mode or dark theme instead, appears as light text on dark backgrounds, helping to reduce eye strain in low light conditions or at night.

On the right-hand side of the screen, insert an image in the light theme tab (Light mode) and another one in the dark theme (Dark mode).

Please Note: If you do not enter a customized image, the system will display the default theme image.

Then select which theme you want your customers to see in the reservation page:

  • Default: your customers will see the booking page as they see it on their smartphone interface. This means that if you select Default, and your customer has set their smartphone interface to a dark theme (Dark mode), they will see the booking page in dark mode with the image you have set in the Dark Theme section.

  • Dark: Regardless of which theme the customer has selected for their phone's interface, the customer will view the booking page in dark mode, so they will see the background image you have selected for the dark theme.

  • Light: The customer will view the booking page in a Light Theme, so they will see the image you have set for the Light Theme.

Under Image Display decide how the uploaded photo will appear on the booking, page; select the mode you consider best for different devices:

  • Repeat = the photo fills the screen and is repeated several times.

  • Image format = the image remains in the format in which it was loaded.

  • Fill and Fit = The image will be resized to fit the screen of the device on which it is displayed.

Colour: this is the colour used for the elements on the booking page.
Choose a colour that reflects your brand or venue identity, and select the tab “colour” which will appear during the reservation process.

Add your business logo: this will be displayed in the first section of the reservation page.
