🎯 Why limit covers per time slot
Do you want to avoid all customers concentrating in the same time slot? Are you looking for a solution to better distribute the flow of reservations and optimize service in the dining room and work in the kitchen? The cover limitation function allows you to better manage the distribution of customers during service, ensuring a better experience for both diners and your staff.
⚙️ How to activate cover limitation
To activate this function go to Configuration > Services hours and click on the green pencil ✏️ corresponding to the service where you want to apply the limitation.
Under Limit the number of covers bookable choose yes.
A section will open where you can decide whether to:
Limit the number of covers per time slot
Limit the number of covers for the entire service
After choosing the mode, you will need to enter the maximum number of covers you accept per time slot or for the entire service.
📊 How limitation per time slot works
The system will automatically control the number of bookable covers per time slot in the rooms associated with the service and will block reservations when the limit you set is reached.
Example: If the total capacity of the rooms associated with the service is 50 covers and you set a limit of 25 covers per time slot, in each time slot (which you find under "Which hours do you want to show in the booking form?") you will receive a maximum of 25 reservations. When 25 covers are reached, the customer trying to book will be invited to choose another time slot.
📅 How limitation for entire service works
By selecting Limit covers for entire service you can set a maximum number of covers for the entire duration of the service.
Example: If you have rooms with a total capacity of 50 covers and you want a maximum of 30 people to be able to book for the entire service, enter 40 in the "Maximum number of covers" field. Once this number of booked customers is reached, the system will prevent bookings for the rest of the service.
🎯 Limit online reservations only
📌 Please note: It is possible to limit the number of covers only for online reservations.
This means that the system will only take into consideration the number of covers received from online reservations, excluding those entered manually.
Example: You set a limit of 10 covers per time slot limiting yourself only to online reservations. If you enter a manual reservation at 12:00 for 4 people, for online reservations you will still have 6 covers available for the 12:00 time slot.
