How to create variants and extra ingredients in the Digital Menu

In this article, we’ll walk you through how to add variants and extra ingredients to your products in the Digital Menu.

⚠️ Variants and extra ingredients are only available for customers with a Premium/EVO subscription.

Difference between variants and extra ingredients

🔹 Variants
These refer to the portion size or quantity of a dish or drink.
Example: for fries, you could create a Small portion and a Large portion.

🔹 Extra ingredients
These are optional additions (like cheese, sauces, toppings, etc.) that add to the base price of the product.

Where can I find them?

Go to the Digital Menu section and click on Variants.

How to create a variant (e.g. Large portion)

  1. Go to Digital Menu > Variants

  2. Click the green +Add button in the top left

LEFT SIDE

  • Variant name: give it a clear name like
    Large portion €7
    (only visible to restaurant staff)

  • Price: activate Use as final price

This ensures the selected variant will replace the base price of the item.

  • Assign the variant to all products that share the same price for the large portion (e.g. fries at €7)

RIGHT SIDE (visible to customers)

Large portion €7

  • Enter the title of the variant that will be shown in the Digital Menu, e.g. Large portion. Don’t forget to enable automatic translation into all other languages

How it appears in the Digital Menu

  • French Fries: €4.50

  • Large portion: €7.00

How to create an extra ingredient (e.g. Cheddar)

Let’s say you want to offer cheddar as an extra for all fries, for an additional cost of €1.50.

  1. Repeat the same process as for the "Large portion" variant

  2. This time, click on Add to base price

This will create an extra ingredient with an added cost.
