The article explains how to create and configure a different menu based on the type of delivery. It illustrates how to create specific categories for takeaway, add dedicated dishes with internal and public customized names, and finally set up a new digital menu with a QR code different from the one for the dining room.
On OctoTable you can configure distinct menus based on the type of delivery. For example, let’s create together a menu for take-away.
🗂️ Create the categories of the take-away menu
Go to the section Digital Menu > Categories and by clicking on + Add category, let’s create the category Take-away Appetizers which will be different from the Dining Room Appetizers.
Enter on the left a name visible only to you and your staff and on the right, if you want, you can enter a different one to show on your site (if you leave the field empty, the name entered on the left will be displayed).
Follow the same procedure to create all the categories you want to make available for takeaway.
🍛 Create the dishes for the new Takeaway-only category
Now click on the blue List of dishes/drinks button next to each Take-away category and create the dishes. You can rename them internally with the takeaway name to distinguish them from the others and choose a public name that does not show this wording.

📕 Create the Take-away menu
Go to the section Digital Menu > My QR Menus and click on + Add
Rename your menu, in this example we can put Take-away Menu, select the take-away categories you created in the previous step, and complete the information to customize it that you find on the page.
